Daniel O'Conner
Hello, and welcome back, everybody. Now, I No need to tell any innovator that patents can be very expensive. And after you pay that for a patent in as many countries as you can afford, you might still lose money because the opportunities might also be countries that you haven't patented. Now, there's a way for you to be able to make some some income from that those extra countries where you couldn't afford a patent, but you know, your patent would work. So my guest today is Matthew Bulat from Global Patent Exchange. Hello, Matthew, how are you?
Matthew Bulat
Hello, Daniel. Welcome, thanks.
Daniel O'Conner
Now, I can tell everybody, you've developed a platform to help inventors to get money from these other countries where they can afford to do patents in it within their patented period. So tell me a little bit about this Global Patent Exchange.
Matthew Bulat
So Global Patent Exchange, collects details, from the patent holder of their new patents, and then matches it with company entrepreneurs who want to have product range extensions in those target markets. So we do the matchmaking.
Daniel O'Conner
Oh, what a great idea. And who does this best suit? What sort of patents or patent holders?
Matthew Bulat
This suits patents that are under 30 months old with the sales history in their local country?
Daniel O'Conner
Okay, sounds good. What about it any party that wouldn't want any type of patent that wouldn't suit?
Matthew Bulat
Patents that are over 30 months. And people that don't have manufacturing and sales history.
Daniel O'Conner
Okay. So it sounds like a great opportunity for the businesses as well.
Matthew Bulat
You want to talk about the businesses get to list their existing markets and industry channels. And then we match up suitable products to extend their channels, so they increase their product ranges quickly.
Daniel O'Conner
So if I'm selling burgers in one market, and I can add fries from another market, and I've got burgers and fries, it's all going to sell, I don't have to go and find new customers or same customers or buy extra products from me. So yes, and could I manufacture that product from this another country as mine and branded as my own?
Matthew Bulat
Depending on the agreement, you the inventor can either manufacture or the company can manufacture depending on how the agreements written up.
Daniel O'Conner
Ah, so we're the people find out more information about this.
